Amber is a type of fossilised resin, rather than being either a crystal or a gem, and is predominantly from extinct coniferous trees. The largest source is found in the Baltic region along the shorelines of Sweden and Denmark. It has been appreciated for its colour and natural beauty since Neolithic times and is known for its energetic and healing powers.
