• What it is: Baltic amber, fossilised resin from ancient conifer trees, hardened over around 40 million years.
• Colour: Warm honey-to-cognac tones [check colour], with the natural variations that make every stone unique.
• What makes Baltic amber special: It contains succinic acid, which is why mineralogists call it "succinite". That chemistry helps set it apart from younger resins such as copal.
