This stunning ammonite pendant is made using a Madagascan Ammonite, dating back around 150 million years old, cut in half to reveal intricate detail and then set in sterling silver

This elegant sterling silver pendant has been shaped into an attractive oval to display the ammonites delicate, warm brown hues and markings. The rear of the fossil remains visible, the silver wrapping around the ammonite as a band.

Originating from within the bactritoid nautiloids, the ammonoid cephalopods first appeared circa 400 million years ago and became extinct around 65 million years ago along with the dinosaurs.
