Antique Chinese Fan Cufflinks | Jade | 35th Anniversary Gift | Sterling Silver

These are cufflinks with a past. We rescued a damaged antique Chinese bone fan, likely around 100 years old, and gave its delicate fretwork a second life. Each 15mm square cufflink frames a section of the hand-pierced fan over a backing of dark green jade, so the deep colour shows through the lace-like pattern for a dramatic, layered effect.

• Each pair comes from a different part of the fan, so no two sets are exactly alike
• Hand-pierced fretwork like this was a hallmark of the Chinese export fans prized in Europe in the 19th and early 20th centuries
