In 1996 Concorde achieved the fastest transatlantic commercial flight travelling from New York (JFK) to London (Heathrow) in 2hrs 59mins and 59 seconds. 

To commemorate this achievement British Airways worked with Wedgewood to produce some commemorative pottery (shown in the pictures)

A total of 20 Concorde aircrafts were built in France and the United Kingdom, six of which were prototypes and development aircraft, and seven each were delivered to Air France and British Airways.

While commercial jets took eight hours to fly from New York to Paris, the average Concorde supersonic flight time on the transatlantic routes was just under 3.5 hours.
