Where it comes from

Most of the world's tiger's eye is mined in South Africa's Northern Cape, in rock formations billions of years old. It formed as quartz grew alongside fine fibrous minerals, and iron oxides turned those fibres gold. Polishing it as a domed cabochon brings out the moving band of light.
